Description

This hand-thrown ceramic bowl is far too lovely to keep in the cupboard for special occasions. Yes, it’s beautiful for setting the table nice if you’re hosting, but it’s just as perfect for everyday meals too. Everything tastes better from a handmade bowl, so you’ll want to use this for everything, whether that’s for eating your cereal at breakfast, comforting dahl or soup for lunch or a fancy risotto for dinner.

A lovely addition to the breakfast table for anyone who appreciates the beauty of handmade ceramics.

How big is it?

This ceramic cereal bowl measures approximately 15cm wide and 7cm tall, so it’s generously sized for a proper portion without being too big.

The handmade process

I half-dip each ceramic bowl in a light green glaze before dipping it again on the opposite side in a light blue glaze, just enough to allow the glazes to overlap. This creates a beautiful blend of colours where the two glazes meet in the middle. The base of the bowl is wiped clean, so you are left with a rim of natural clay at the bottom.

Because they’re hand-thrown on my potter’s wheel in my Wiltshire studio, every cereal bowl is completely one of a kind, but that’s exactly what I love about handmade ceramics.
