How big is it?
Each ceramic dipping bowl is the perfect size for those little extras, from hummus and dips to chutneys and pickles, at the table. Measuring at just over 8cm wide and 4cm deep, they’re also brilliant for everyday use around the home. A handmade home for your keys by the door, a place to keep earrings or rings together on your bedside table, or even storing paperclips and pins on your office desk.
The handmade process
I glaze each handmade ceramic dipping bowl on the inside with my classic white glaze before dipping it from the rim down in one of three different colours on the outside. The top of this dipping bowl is coated in a soft, speckled grey, while the bottom is left unglazed to reveal the natural clay beneath, giving a lovely tactile contrast in textures.
Because they’re hand-thrown on my potter’s wheel in my Wiltshire studio, no two ceramic bowls are ever the same, but that’s what I love about handmade ceramics.
The little ceramic spoon, if you choose to add one, is handmade by me. These are unglazed, with just a drop of white glaze on the spoon part.
