The handmade process
I’ve left the inside of these handmade egg cups unglazed to show off the lovely, natural texture of the clay. On the outside, however, I dip them first in a pale green glaze right up to the rim, and then halfway again in a soft light blue. The double dip creates a gentle overlap where the two colours meet, and the colours blend so beautifully.
Because they’re hand-thrown on my potter’s wheel in my Wiltshire studio, no two ceramic egg cups are ever exactly alike, but that’s what I love about handmade ceramics.
