Hand-Thrown Hanging Planter ~ Midnight

This ceramic hanging planter measures approximately
Height: 12cm
Width: 13.5cm

It will comfortably hold a plant pot up to 12cm wide and 10cm tall with a little extra wiggle room.

Every ceramic piece is hand-thrown on my potter’s wheel in my home studio in Wiltshire. It starts as a simple ball of clay, which I shape by hand on the wheel. The next day, I carefully trim your handmade ceramic and allow it to dry slowly for about a week. Once dry, your item is bisque-fired at 1000 degrees, transforming it into strong bisque ware and left to cool. 

I create all my own glazes from dry ingredients, blending unique colours exclusive to Libby Ballard ceramics. When the bisque firing is complete, I apply these glazes by hand, either by dipping your piece or pouring the glaze, before wiping the base clean. 

Your ceramic is then fired again at 1260 degrees for its final firing, transforming it into durable stoneware. Once it’s cooled, I unload your handmade ceramic piece from the kiln, give it a quick quality check, and it’s ready to be packaged. 

To ensure a safe delivery, I wrap your handmade pottery in paper bubble wrap and tissue paper, and pop it in an eco-friendly box protected with corn-starch loose fill. I always try to keep packaging minimal and sustainable, while making sure your ceramics arrive at their new home (i.e. your home) in one piece!

Your ceramic hanging planter is dishwasher-proof

All orders can be beautifully presented, ready for gifting. Most products can come gift boxed, while larger items such as vases, serving bowls, and platters will be gift wrapped. Please select the ‘Gift Wrap’ option once your item is in the cart.

Gift Box: Each gift box is made from recycled card. It is wrapped in a layer of blue tissue, and finished with ribbon, string, a handmade porcelain “with love” tag, and a sprig of foliage.

Gift Wrap (for vases, serving bowls and platters): These larger pieces are carefully wrapped in blue tissue, covered with recycled kraft paper, and finished with ribbon, string, a porcelain “with love” tag, and a sprig of foliage.
