Description
A handmade ceramic jug is one of those versatile pieces you’ll be glad to have in your kitchen. Perfect for pouring drinks, housing kitchen utensils on the countertop, or even holding fresh flowers from the garden. Something you’ll end up using every single day.
How big is it?
This ceramic jug holds 800ml, making it a good size for serving water at the dinner table.
The handmade process
I glaze each handmade ceramic jug on the inside with my classic white glaze before dipping it from the top down so that the white covers the top of the jug to the base of the handle. I then dip it into my midnight blue glaze, again from the top, so the colour covers the white, leaving a tiny rim where the white is untouched. The bottom part of the jug is unglazed to create a beautiful contrast in textures where the clay is left in its natural state.
Because they’re hand-thrown on my potter’s wheel in my Wiltshire studio, no two pouring jugs are ever the same, but that’s what I love about handmade ceramics.
Looking for a handmade gift?
I love giving handmade ceramics as presents, and this pouring jug is one of those gifts that gets used every day. Pop it in a box with some pretty tea towels, a set of coasters or placemats, and you’ve got a housewarming gift that feels genuinely useful.
If you are buying this as a present and want me to wrap it for you, simply select the ‘Gift Wrap’ option once it’s in your cart, and I’ll ensure your hand-thrown ceramic jug is beautifully packaged so it’s ready for you to gift straight away.
