I love that these have no handles too – the smooth shape makes this lovely to hold in your hands, which feels so comforting when you have a hot cuppa in those chilly months.

Description

There’s something about sipping a hot cup of tea, or some delicious mulled wine at Christmas, from a handmade ceramic tumbler. It just makes everything feel that little bit more special, don’t you think? These tall tumblers are great for drinking anything, hot or cold, so even the most ordinary of coffees or cups of water feels like such a treat. 

How big is it?

These tall ceramic tumblers hold approximately 300ml of your favourite hot drink, which is slightly larger than a standard coffee mug. It’s the perfect everyday mug for a morning coffee or a comforting cuppa – or a cup of water or juice if you’ve already had your caffeine fix. 

The handmade process

Each of these hand-thrown ceramic tumblers is glazed inside with a shiny white glaze that highlights the natural speckle of the clay.  I then dip the outside in one of four glaze combos. Finally, the bottom of the cup is wiped clean to leave an unglazed rim, creating a lovely contrast in textures where the clay shows through at the bottom. Hazy Skyline is a gentle blend of dusky blue-grey with earthy brown tones, which reminds me of the skyline at dawn.

Because they’re hand-thrown on my potter’s wheel in my Wiltshire studio, no two ceramic tumblers are identical, but that’s what I love about handmade ceramics.
