Description
The perfect size for fitting under your coffee machine, this dinky ceramic cup makes even the most ordinary coffee feel posh. Use it for fancy cappuccinos and flat whites or for sharing a cup of tea from a teapot with some friends.
How big is it?
These ceramic cups hold approximately 200ml, so they’re a bit smaller than your regular cup. Just right for tea drinkers who like to share a pot of tea.
The handmade process
I glaze each little ceramic cup on the inside with my classic white glaze before dipping it from the top down so that the white covers half the outside of the cup. I then dip it into my midnight blue glaze, bottom first, so the colour comes about halfway up the cup – just enough to allow it to overlap the white glaze slightly. To finish, the bottom of the mug is wiped clean to leave an unglazed rim, creating a lovely contrast in textures where the clay is left in its natural state.
Because they’re hand-thrown on my potter’s wheel in my Wiltshire studio, no two handmade mugs are identical, but that’s what I love about handmade ceramics.
Want to gift it?
This dinky ceramic cup is such a thoughtful gift for tea drinkers, especially those who like to share a teapot with friends. Pair one or two with some fresh loose-leaf tea or their favourite teabags for a birthday gift or thank you present they’ll appreciate every time they sit down for a cuppa.
If you are buying this handmade ceramic cup as a present and want me to wrap it for you, simply select the ‘Gift Wrap’ option once it’s in your cart, and I’ll ensure it’s beautifully packaged so it’s ready for you to gift straight away.
